Yesterday T and I had another Midwife Appointment. I think we must have worked our way through all of the team now as the lady who took the appointment we had met right at the start, so we’ve obviously cycled our way back to the beginning!

This seems like such a long time ago now! |
She did all of the usual: pee test, blood pressure, etc. She checked Spud’s position, and confirmed that she’s still head down, but not engaged (which is good at this point), and measured my bump – Spud is slightly above the curve on her growth chart, but she’s still measuring at exactly the right number of weeks: I think this means that she’s bigger than expected from the measurements at her first scan, but is still within normal ranges. Though I have been panicking that it means I’m going to have a giant baby! The trainee Midwife who sat in on our appointment couldn’t feel Spud’s head properly, but the Midwife reassured her (and us) that it was quite difficult as she’s very deep down - which was the issue we had with our
Twenty-Week scan! Spud obviously likes my pelvis! And the pain in my back and ribs was, once again, dismissed as normal, which is reassuring but still sucks.
In other news, we had a lovely weekend – we met up with some friends for Sunday Roast, which was delicious, and talked all things babies and house-hunting; and last night another friend came to us for dinner and we had a good gossip about nothing baby related! Balance is important!
How did you find balance, between baby/relationships/life/etc. during your pregnancy?
