Fatigued

Since hitting the Third Trimester I feel as though I have been hit with a tonne of bricks! I’m fat and fatigued, and everything hurts. Poor T is bearing the brunt of my whinging, even though I’m trying to remain upbeat.

Varied Reading Material!
Back in the First Trimester I had crushing tiredness, (which, to be fair, was pretty much my only really horrible symptom) but that eased during the Second Trimester. Among the ladies in the Facebook group that I am part of, exhaustion does seem to be a common symptom at this point, as everything gets heavier and more awkward. The only problem is, unlike the First Trimester when I could barely keep my eyes open, now I can barely close them! My sleep is all over the place, yet during the day my eyes are stinging with tiredness. Vivid dreams are still common; though, fortunately, not the nightmares of earlier, and getting up and down to pee every hour or so doesn’t help with the disruption.

T is being a wonder, though, and bought me a belly band this week to see if that would help ease some of the achiness from my hips, knees and back. Sometimes, when I’ve been walking, I’ve had the sensation that Spud has rolled to the very front of my stomach and it’s horribly uncomfortable, to the point that I feel as though I have to hold my bump up in order to carry on walking! Well this band does just that, and while I haven’t used it for a long walk (or the dreaded commute) yet, it has helped with standing up from the sofa and walking around the house, so that’s good. It’s not doing anything for my back, but I didn’t really expect it to as the pain is so high up in my ribs: but any reduction in overall achiness is very welcome!

Spud is almost constantly on the go these days, and her bumps are becoming more and more prominent. I can feel her wriggling around when I’m not looking out for it, and other people can now feel her bumbling – though, true to diva form, she usually stops moving as soon as someone else tries to feel the movement!

I’ve also started putting together our Go-Bag for the hospital – there are still a few more things to get together, and it’s more of a go-suitcase than a bag, but it’s making the finish line seem so very real…
