Christmas Cheer
Did everyone have a good Christmas? I certainly did although I’m exhausted to my very bones now!
I’ve been working a lot in the run up to Christmas and Spud is getting much heavier, so everything is tiring me out these days – although the belly band that T got for me earlier in the month certainly helps with being on my feet all day! Everyone I’ve seen over the week before Christmas has commented that I seem much bigger all of a sudden, so maybe the GP was right in that you’re settling in to position? Although it may also have to do with the sheer amount of food that I’ve consumed over Christmas!
T and I are lucky in that his family celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, and mine on Christmas Day, so there’s never a debate over who to spend time with. In preparation for the car journeys T installed Spud’s car seat the other day – he came to pick me up from work and I just stared into the back of the car for a few minutes, though I still don’t know how much of the reality has sunk in yet.
I was working on Christmas Eve but T and I just made it in time for family dinner, which was delicious as ever, and we were spoiled rotten with gifts for Spud. Early in the morning on Christmas Day we loaded up the car with presents and Disney music, and journeyed across the country for dinner with my family, and once again we and Spud were thoroughly spoiled! She’s not even here yet and she has been showered with gifts!
My family haven’t seen me since we found out about Spud, so my mum and Grandma both had a little bit of a tear in their eyes. My dad just said “Bloody hell you’re fat”, which is about right! And Spud had a bit of a wriggle for all of the family, so she’s already ensuring that she’s the centre of attention.
