Party Prep
This may sound a little fatalistic but I really want everything to be ready for Spud’s arrival NOW.
I know she’s not due for a few more months (we hit the Third Trimester next week!) but we’re nearly at the Twenty-Eight week mark, and that’s when I was born. I realise that premature birth isn’t necessarily hereditary, but I’ve got that number in my head, and I really want everything to be prepared *just in case* Spud decides to follow in her momma’s footsteps.
T and I have most of the stuff we need – the pram, car seat, and cot – and enough to get us through an emergency - a few clothes, some nappies, etc – but there’s still a lot that we need to get, and while I wouldn’t say I was *stressing* particularly, it’s definitely something that’s on my mind now.
It’s Black Friday this week, when a lot of retailers have huge discounts on products, and T and I were thinking that we might break the back of our Amazon Wish List (as I wouldn't dream of going actual, physical shop shopping on Black Friday!) However, it’s also the week before payday, so we can’t really afford to! Also, we’ve asked for Gift Cards for Christmas, so it’d suck if we spent all of our real money in a place that we could have spent a Gift Card.
I’m trying to calm down and leave off buying more stuff until the January sales. Realistically I know that Spud probably won’t arrive before Christmas (and hopefully not before February!) so we have got time. I’m sure she won’t be as impatient as I apparently was!
Was anyone else a preemie and went on to have a premature baby for their first?
