Babies and Boobies
T and I went shopping the other day, and we took the opportunity of a rare day out together to pop into a couple of baby stores to have a coo over shit like socks and onesies.
We've been in a few times before; to Mamas and Papas to check whether our car has isofix compatibility (it doesn't, but, honestly, I'm still not 100% sure I even really know what it is), and to Mothercare to play with prams, and it's fun to just have a mooch around and try not to lose our minds over everything babies seem to need. Seriously, how can one small human seem to require so much stuff?
This time, however, we found ourselves in conversation with another couple... yep, T and I have become *those* people who strike up conversations with actual parents over products and clothing. Dangnabbit...
On one of our pop-ins we picked up a couple of ever-so-sexy bras for me - I got measured and came out a band size and two cup sizes bigger than my usual, so it's a good job I checked! I went straight for a nursing bra, as I intend to at least try to breastfeed, and the lady in the shop said they were good for during pregnancy as well. I mean, even if I go up again, I can use it on the other side on the way out, right?
Although, absolute honesty - they don't really seem to fit that well. The band pops out oddly at the front, not sitting snugly against my breast-bone, and the cut of the cup is so huge that any sort of plunge neck or low-cut top is completely out of the question! I also went for practicality over prettiness, so they're rather utilitarian and, well, ugly - although that is my fault as they did have some nicer looking ones with lace and stuff on.
So I also nipped into Primark and picked up a couple of £2.50 bras with pretty flower patterns on, in the size I was measured as, and they fit like a dream! And at £2.50 I don't really care whether I outgrow them in a month!
Where did you get your maternity bras from? Any recommendations?
