Yoga Bunny Mummy
While I wouldn't actually, honestly, call myself a yoga bunny, I do enjoy it.
I use YouTube videos (because I don't have the time or money to actually attend classes) and found that Yoga With Adriene worked best for me. As an introduction to practice I did a couple of her '30 Day' programmes, and fell in love with Vinyasa Flow, and I highly recommend these (and do, regularly, to most people I speak with!) if you're trying to find an online Yogi who doesn't drive you up the wall!
However, I knew that some yoga sequences, poses and flows were not particularly suitable during pregnancy, so I've been struggling to find a consistent practice that I could get on board with. Added to that was the First Trimester fatigue, cold, and a generally very busy couple of weeks, and I was definitely feeling the need to find something that worked for me so I could get my body moving again!
A YouTube search for 'Prenatal Yoga' and 'Pregnancy Yoga' turned up loads of options, and there are a couple that I've been using as a basis for my own practice: SarahBeth Yoga and Tonic both have videos for prenatal yoga practice that are suitable for me, although if you don't know the basics of yoga they might be a little difficult to follow. The daily practice from Tonic and Morning Sequences from SBY were particularly good as they're short enough to fit into my daily schedule, yet intense enough that I felt as though I'd had a proper little practice.
How do you exercise during pregnancy? What did you find the most effective style for you, and how did you fit it in around your other commitments and symptoms?
