There's An App For That
There’s an app for everything these days, isn’t there?
I downloaded a couple, and T found one that he likes too (mostly for the name – Who’s Your Daddy !). One of the features is a daily 'tip', and includes suggestions like "When was the last time you cooked? You should make tea tonight." So I'm enjoying it too!
The one I’m finding the most useful and informative so far is Ovia – the layout is welcoming and fun (you can compare the size of baby to things such as ‘Fruits and Vegetables’, or ‘Weird-But-Cute Animals’); it’s full of useful information and articles; includes a health and fitness tracker, and, super handily, has a Food Safety Lookup, which I referred to this evening when we went out for a meal.
I’ve been trying to stay healthy, as I lost a lot of weight a year or so ago and have worked hard to keep it off. I’m intending to continue eating well, practising yoga, and drinking lots of water. All things that will be beneficial for Spud as well (oh, yes, it’s a Spud, by the way).
I rang my GP this morning and got told that they didn’t need to see me – I could just self-refer to the antenatal clinic. I was a little bit concerned about this at first, so spent some time googling, and discovered that the GP may only want to see you if there’s an underlying medical condition, or if you’re on long-term medication, have had an STD recently, have a history of miscarriage or things like that. Since I’m pretty low risk I guess I don’t need to be seen right now.
I’ve filled in the self-referral form online though, and now I’m just going to have to wait… I’m not particularly patient. This is going to be a loooong nine months!
Did you use any apps during pregnancy? Which did you find the most useful?
